Our Methodology & Editorial Standards

Every calculator on WorldCalcs is built to give a correct, trustworthy answer. This page explains how we create and check our tools.

Accuracy first

Each calculator uses an established, authoritative formula — for example, the World Health Organization's classification for BMI, the Mifflin-St Jeor equation for metabolic rate, or standard financial formulas for loans and interest. Before a calculator is published, we test it against independent calculations to confirm the results match.

Evergreen by design

We focus on stable facts and formulas that do not change over time, so the information stays correct. We deliberately keep details that go out of date quickly — such as specific tax rates or yearly figures — out of our explanations.

Clear explanations

Where it helps, each tool shows the formula and a worked example, so you can understand the result, not just read a number.

Reviews and corrections

Calculators are reviewed by the WorldCalcs team, and each calculator shows when it was last reviewed. If you spot an error, tell us through our Contact page and we will look into it.
