101.67%
You'd need more than 100% (extra credit) to reach that target.
What is a final grade calculator?
A final grade calculator tells you the score you need on your final exam to finish the course with the grade you want. Plug in the grade you have now, how much the final is worth, and your target, and it returns the exact percentage you need.
How it's calculated
Your current grade counts for everything except the final, and the final makes up the rest. If the final is worth f (written as a decimal, so 30% is 0.30), your current grade covers the other (1 − f) of the course. The score you need on the final is: Required = (Desired − Current × (1 − f)) / f.
Example
You currently have 85%, the final is worth 30% (f = 0.30), and you want to finish with 90%. Required = (90 − 85 × 0.70) / 0.30 = (90 − 59.5) / 0.30 = 30.5 / 0.30 = 101.67%. Because that is above 100%, you'd need extra credit to reach a 90 — a useful reality check before the exam.

How to use
Enter your current overall grade (everything except the final), how much the final is worth as a percentage of your course grade, and the overall grade you want to finish with.
The required score updates as you type. If it's over 100% your target needs extra credit; if it's zero or negative you've already secured the grade.
