What is a GPA calculator?

A GPA (grade point average) calculator turns your letter grades and credit hours into a single average on the 4.0 scale, so you can track your academic standing.

How it works

Each letter grade maps to grade points (A = 4.0, B = 3.0, and so on). The tool multiplies each course's points by its credit hours, adds them up, and divides by the total credit hours. Example: an A in a 3-credit course and a B in a 4-credit course give (12 + 12) ÷ 7 = 3.43.

All calculations happen in your browser. Nothing is sent, stored, or tracked.

Results are estimates and may contain errors — for general information only, not professional advice. Always verify before relying on them. Disclaimer

How to use

Add your courses one by one, choosing the letter grade and entering the credit hours. The GPA updates automatically as you add, remove, or change courses.

Use the standard 4.0 unweighted scale. This tool does not add extra points for honors or AP courses.
