What is a tip calculator?

A tip calculator works out how much to tip and what the total bill comes to, and can split it evenly between several people. It saves doing percentages in your head at a restaurant, café or bar.

How it works

The tool multiplies the bill by your chosen tip percentage to get the tip, adds it to the bill for the total, then divides by the number of people. Example: a 50 bill at 18% is a 9.00 tip, a 59.00 total, or 29.50 each between two people.

All calculations happen in your browser. Nothing is sent, stored, or tracked.

Results are estimates and may contain errors — for general information only, not professional advice. Always verify before relying on them. Disclaimer

How to use

Enter the bill amount, choose a tip percentage, and set the number of people. The calculator updates instantly with the tip, total, and split amounts.

All values are rounded to two decimal places. The tool is currency-neutral — use it for any currency.
